Safety Week at CSU-Pueblo

Colorado State University-Pueblo is focusing attention on safety and security this week, with a series of free events.

Monday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge, students and staff can meet the faces of security and safety on campus at a Sheriff's Forum, which comes with pizza and beverages sponsored by Environmental Health and Safety.

Tuesday: will be residence hall night as representatives of the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office conduct a dog demonstration outside of Greenhorn Hall as well as a meet and greet with those living in the residence halls.

Wednesday: activities will feature a flashpoint program on how to identify a person in distress as well as a active shooter presentation from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the OUC Cottonwood Room. Free food sponsored by Associated Students Government.

Thursday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., activities will focus on preparing for Spring Break with educational programming focusing on drunk driving and safe sex, including a drunk driving simulator and Spring Break survival kit giveaways to the first 1,000 attendees. Free food will be sponsored by Chartwells.

Drunk driving awareness activities will be sponsored by Bacchus and Gamma Peer Education Network, Pueblo County Sheriff's Department, CDOT Impaired Driving Prevention Project, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
