Five hurricanes, two or three of them major, are expected to strike the U.S. coast in what could be arough Atlantic hurricane season, AccuWeather.com said Wednesday.
Forecasters say the season starting June 1 will see 16-18 tropical storms forming, 15 of them a threat to land.
Among the factors contributing to the forecast are El Nino weather, weakening trade winds and higher humidity levels.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 - Nov. 30.
