The 70th Annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo gets underway Wednesday night in Colorado Springs and to kick off the festivities the Annual Rodeo Parade is rolling along Tejon Street downtown tonight.
The parade begins at 6:30 this evening and will travel south on Tejon from St. Vrain to Vermijo.
PRCA Rodeo events will be held each evening at 7:30 from Wednesday through Saturday at the Norris-Penrose Events Center 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road.
A matinee performance will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00. Tickets range from $5-25 with discounts for children and members of the military. Children's admission to the Saturday matinee is only $1.
Additionally, mutton bustin sheep riding events for children will take place each afternoon at 4:00 in the rodeo arena. There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Children wanting to participate must qualify on Wednesday between 4:30-6:30 p.m. There is no pre-registration. Participation is limited to children between the ages of 4-8 and who weigh less than 55 pounds.
The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is a non-profit organization and procedes raised will benefit local military charities.
