NEW YORK - Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin picked up his first win of the season after a nearly 3 month break due to an injured shoulder.
Chacin struck out two and gave up only one run in his six innings on the mound. He also forced the Mets batters to ground out eight times.
In the top of the sixth inning, a Chacin bunt started the Rockies game winning rally. With runners at first and third and no outs, Mets pitcher Chris Young picked up the bunt then over threw the play at first giving DJ LeMahiue the go ahead run on the error.
In the next at bat, Charlie Blackmon drive in Johnny Herrera. Later in the inning, Dexter Flower brought Chacin home on a line drive to right and Ramon Hernandez capped off the rally with a sacrifice fly to right.
Fowler picked up his second RBI of the night in the top of the eighth and Herrera drove in Andrew Brown in the ninth.
The Mets scored on a pair of sacrifice fly balls by Daniel Murphy in the fourth inning and Andres Torres in the eighth.
