ST. LOUIS (AP) - Colorado Rockies catcher Miguel Olivo was struck in the head by Albert Pujols' backswing in the first inning Friday night and was down on the ground for several minutes.

Olivo left the field on a cart after medical personnel placed a cervical collar around his neck. Olivo was sitting up for several minutes after being injured, then lied down.

The St. Louis Cardinals had runners on second and third with no outs when Pujols popped up to shallow center.

Chris Ianetta replaced Olivo in a scoreless game.
