Rockies beat Cardinals 2-1 in 9th inning

DENVER (AP) - Yorvit Torrealba's sacrifice fly scored Troy Tulowitzki from third base with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth and the Colorado Rockies edged St. Louis 2-1 on Friday night.

That prevented the Cardinals from becoming the first team in the majors to clinch their division and kept the Rockies 3½ games ahead of Atlanta in the NL wild card.

Todd Helton led off the ninth with a walk from Trevor Miller (4-1), who was replaced by Kyle McClellan. Tulowitzki reached on a fielder's choice, and pinch-hitter Jason Giambi's single put
runners at the corners.

Torrealba lofted a ball to right, and Ryan Ludwick's throw home was nowhere close.

The Cardinals' magic number over Chicago remained one with the Cubs playing at San Francisco later Friday.
