Rock removal continues near Cotopaxi

Rock removal continues on Highway 50 west of Cotopaxi to remove rubble from a rock slide that happened Monday.
Crews worked until sundown yesterday and all morning trying to break the larger boulders into smaller pieces so they can be hauled away.
Workers are using drills and blasting because the rocks are so large. The road may be open this weekend.
Highway 50 is closed from near Royal Gorge to Salida. The road westbound is open to local traffic all the way to Cotopaxi.
