Rock Ledge Ranch plans an old-fashioned Fourth of July with picnics, music and historic speeches.
Hear Abraham Lincoln recite the Gettysburg Address, General William Jackson Palmer read the Declaration of Independence, Katherine Lee Bates talk about her inspiration for "America the Beautiful," or visit a Civil War encampment.
There will be carnival games for a small fee, as well as food for sale.
Rock Ledge Ranch is located at the entrance to the Garden of the Gods off 30th Street. Admission fees are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and teens ages 13 to 18, and $2 for children 12 and under. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
