Salvation Army officials say it's no mistake that somebody quietly slipped an envelope with two rings into a Salvation Army red kettle. One ring was a piece of costume jewelry. The other? An antique platinum and diamond wedding ring valued at $1,400.

Salvation Army Capt. Tom Fenton says the rings slipped into the kettle outside a King Soopers in Westminster on Thursday had a note reading: "For the Salvation Army." That leaves Fenton wondering whether it's from someone with a full heart or a broken heart.

Money raised from Salvation Army's annual campaign provides food and rental assistance for those in need.
