Johns Hopkins University scientists have identified two genes critical to ovarian clear cell carcinoma, one of the most aggressive form of the disease.

Those genetic mutations may cause 10-percent of ovarian cancer cases.

The discovery could lead to new treatments for ovarian cancer and better understanding of the link between cancer and endometriosis.

The study was published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.
