A report says a Colorado state trooper facing a drunken driving charge had a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit while on duty.

KUSA-TV reported Friday that the officer who arrested 48-year-old David Dolan said he was unable to keep his balance after his arrest Monday morning. The arrest report says Dolan took a breath test and it showed his blood alcohol level was .194. Colorado's legal limit to be able to drive is .08.

Several people called 911 to report that Dolan's patrol car was being driven erratically on the highway. Dolan was in uniform and on duty.

He is free on $1,000 and faces charges of driving under the influence and prohibited use of weapons. Colorado law makes it illegal for anyone to have a firearm while intoxicated.

Dolan is on unpaid leave.
