A $17.1 million renovation to the science building at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is complete and ready for use when students begin the Fall 2010 Semester on Monday.
The renovated building has been renamed Centennial Hall to avoid confusion with the Science and Engineering Building, which opened in August 2009. It features a fully-refurbished 290-seat auditorium, the largest classroom on the UCCS campus. Chemistry labs have undergone dramatic safety improvements and have been brought under full compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
According to a press release, the project was funded by the state through long-term bonds backed by the state's Federal Mineral Lease funds.
