Removing healthy breast, when one has cancer, may have benefits

Removing a healthy breast when the other one is cancerous may be beneficial to some breast cancer patients.

Researchers at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center found a small survival benefit for women under age 50 with stage 1 or 2 cancer that is ER negative.

That particular group makes up less than 10% of all breast cancer patients.
