Air Force cornerback Reggie Rembert received double the recognition on Monday. Rembert was named the defensive player of the week by both the national Walter Camp Foundation and the Mountain West Conference.
Rembert recorded a season-high seven tackles (four solo stops), an interception, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery in Air Force's 49-27 win over Colorado State. With the Falcons holding a 14-0 advantage early in the second quarter, Rembert picked off Rams quarterback Pete Thomas and returned the ball 30 yards to the CSU 3-yard line. Later in the quarter, the Flower Mound, Texas, product recovered a Ram fumble at the CSU 33, leading to a Falcon touchdown two plays later.
This is the second time Rembert has received the conference award.
Reggie and the 23rd ranked Falcons hit the road this weekend for a game Saturday night at San Diego State.
