RED FLAG WARNING through 8 PM this evening. There is low humidity and increasing winds in today's forecast. So any flames or sparks could easily spread a fire. Please be vigilant!
The westerly winds are bringing a nice warm up to the area. Highs today are going to be well above average with highs in the 60s and 70s. Plus, we'll see a nice amount of sunshine. As of the noon hour, the western half of Colorado was already seeing cloudy skies and showers. This atmosphere is moving east and will arrive here later this afternoon. By this evening, we'll turn mostly cloudy, with a few scattered showers possible in the higher elevations.
Tomorrow will start cloudy, but the clouds will break for some afternoon sunshine. The thing you'll notice is that temperatures won't be as warm. We'll be back to more seasonal temperatures in the 50s and 60s for Thursday and Friday.
But the weekend still looks awesome. With mostly sunny skies, highs will once again climb into the 60s and 70s - both days!!! So it does look like one of the nicest weekends we've seen in quite some time will be arriving Saturday.
After the weekend, temps will cool slightly. But the start of next week doesn't look too impressive. Temperatures will stay seasonal and no major storm is expected in the area.
Enjoy the warmth today, but be careful around any fire/flames... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
