Residents of Pueblo County can get rid of unwanted hard-to-recycle items on Saturday May 12.
The event happens at the Colorado State Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enter the fairgrounds at Gate 3 on Mesa Avenue.
Items will only be accepted from homes--no business waste will be allowed.
Residents may drop off batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, scrap appliances, used oil, antifreeze and gym shoes for free. Tires will cost one dollar. Appliances containing Freon will cost $5. Electronics like televisions, computer monitors and printers will cost $5 and up.
Paint and stains, poisons, chemicals, cleaners, toxic and medical wastes, yard debris, furniture and household trash will not be accepted. Call the Recycle Hotline 583-4924 for more information or clarification.
