Pueblo will offer a collection day for hard-to-recycle items on Saturday, May 14 at the State Fairgrounds.
For a $5 gate admission, you may drop-off latex paints, spray paints and stains, household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, scrap appliances, used oil and oil filters, antifreeze, and lead vehicle batteries. Used passenger tires may also be dropped off for an additional $2 each. Appliances containing Freon such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners can be dropped off for an additional $5 each. Electronic items such as TVs, computers and printers will be accepted for additional fees starting at $5.
Oil-based paint, poisons, chemicals, cleaners, toxic and medical wastes, yard debris, furniture and household trash will not be accepted. Call the Recycle Hotline 583-4924 for more information.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Enter Gate 3 on Mesa Avenue. This event is open to all residents in the City and County of Pueblo only. Items from businesses, schools, or large facilities will not be accepted.
