Records show Ebel's violent behavior in prison

The man suspected of killing Colorado Department of Corrections(DOC) Executive Director, Tom Clements threatened to kill a corrections officer while he was in prison, according to state prison records.

It's just one episode in a long history of misconduct behind bars for Evan Ebel. In that incident Ebel told a corrections officer that he would kill her if he saw her on the street.

While in prison Ebel had multiple situations where he put his feces on door handles, fought with other inmates, and had to be drug out of his cell by force.

Ebel was released on parole on January 28th. A DOC spokesperson said that Ebel served his maximum sentence so he could no longer legally be held in prison.

More time was added to Ebel's original sentence after he was convicted in a case where he assaulted an DOC officer in 2007.

Ebel is accused in the shooting Clements before being killed in a shoot out in Texas last week.
