Here's what I'm working on today. Craig Eliot says we could have record heat today! 96 in Colorado Springs and 102 in Pueblo! Record highs are also quite possible today in La Junta, Lamar, Trinidad and even Alamosa! When the weather gets this hot emergency responders are busy treating people for dehydration and other heat related illnesses. The CDC says the best way to stay healthy is to follow some easy prevention tips, such as drinking plenty of water and wearing light weight, light colored clothing. Did you know that electric fans won't prevent heat-related illnesses when the weather is this hot! You may want to read the CDC's website on Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness. More to come.
