The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's office received a request for petitions to recall six D-11 School Board members.
Sources say that a group of parents from Wasson are the ones who filed the recall petition Thursday afternoon.
The recall effort targets Elaine Naleski, Nora Brown, Al Loma, Sandra Mann, Luann Long and Jan Tanner. All of whom voted in early February to close Wasson High School and two elementary schools to save the district money.
If the petition is approved for circulation, it can be circulated for sixty days, and a minimum of 15-thousand valid signatures are required for each of the School Board members.
The last D-11 recall election was back in 2006, in which it cost taxpayers more than 250-thousand dollars.
