DENVER (AP) - Former Republican State Rep. Rob Witwer of Genesee has been appointed to the panel working to redraw the boundaries of Colorado's state legislative districts.

GOP House Speaker Frank McNulty announced the appointment Monday. Witwer will serve on the 11-member Colorado Reapportionment Commission. The commission is separate from the committee appointed to redraw congressional districts that's been holding meetings around the state.

The speaker and House minority leader each appoint one member to the reapportionment commission as do the Senate majority and minority leaders.

The governor appoints three members of the commission, and the chief justice of the Colorado Supreme Court appoints the final four members.
