Tuesday night's thunderstorm will have many people spending weeks to clean up after it.
Chuck Clute of Colorado Springs shows News First 5 just how high the water rose during the storm. He says he has a lot of damage to his property and many of his tools. He describes the storm as hectic.
"People are scrambling, trying to get above the water and it's happening pretty quick," says Clute.
Across the street, one woman will spend the next several hours pumping three feet of water out of her basement.
The storm drains clog up quickly, and Tuesday night, utilities crews work to clear the drains, but Clute says, not fast enough.
"The city will not pay attention to these drains, and this is a low-lying area and it gets bad with real rain," says Clute.
