Tacoma starter Chris Seddon threw the first nine-inning shutout at Security Service Field in over eight years as the Rainiers blanked the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 7-0 Tuesday night.
Seddon's stellar performance was the story of the night as the righty thoroughly shut down the Sky Sox offense tossing a four-hitter.
Sox starter Esmil Rogers was looking to rebound from a rough last two starts. However, he was pulled in the top of the second after giving up six earned runs while recording just five outs.
With the loss, the Sky Sox fall to 30-34 on the year, while the Rainiers improved to 32-30.
Wednesday, the Sky Sox will send Greg Smith (0-0, 3.55) to face off against David Pauley (1-4, 3.80) for the first leg of their doubleheader. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:35 p.m.
