Rain & thunder possible today

Rain and thunderstorms will be scattered across Southern Colorado today. The rain will probably not fall everywhere, but it will be around. Rainfall totals will be less than 0.10" along I-25, though some locally higher totals are possible for some. Heavier rain and even severe thunderstorms are possible in the Southeastern Plains from La Junta and Kim east to Lamar and Springfield. The tornado risk is on the low end, but a higher risk exists for damaging wind and large hail.

Temperatures will be held down in the 70's and 80's this afternoon. Cooler temperatures will flow into Southern Colorado tomorrow. Rain could continue through Thursday. By Friday the rain will be less widespread, and will less widespread still this weekend. As the rain dwindles, the temperatures will rebound. By the weekend, most of us will warm back into the mid-to-upper 80's.
