Racing legend expanding performance driving school to PPIR

Pikes Peak International Raceway is building back the business of high performance driving and a legend in the world of auto racing is a major new addition. Bob Bondurant is expanding is expanding his high performance driving school for the first time in more than four decades.

Bondurant rose to fame in the 60's while racing in Europe. "Our mission was to beat Ferrari in the World Manufacturing Championships. He'd never been beaten," said Bondurant. He tried without success in 1964. Then a year later during a race series ending in France, he won eight out of ten races. "Winning the World Manufacturing Championship is huge-never been done since." Bondurant is the first and last American to win the series.

In the late 60's he was in a terrible accident during a race and was told by doctors he may never walk again. After a long fight he got his mobility back. At the time he channeled into his teaching school that now has a reputation among the best in the world.

A half dozen tracks have tried to entice the Bondurant school, but he and his wife decided PPIR has everything they need. "Location, weather, the track, the status and the state of the track was important, said Pat Bondurant The Bondurants work with many of the world's best drivers, but also offer race car experiences for individuals and corporate events.
