Fans of Colorado Springs' Rachael Flatt have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with the Olympic figure skater this Saturday. She'll appear at the annual Monte Vista Potato Harvest Festival in the San Luis Valley.
"I'm looking forward to being part of this year's celebration." Said Flatt; "I've had the opportunity to tour some of the farms and packing operations in the valley, and understand how much work goes into producing this healthy food."
"As an athlete, Rachael is very focused on nutrition. As a Coloradan, she actively supports locally produced food. We can't think of a better person to help us promote Colorado Potatoes," said Jim Ehrlich, executive director of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee.
The festival includes food and craft vendors, farm tours, live music, a potato cooking contest and a children's carnival. The festival will be held in Fullenwider Park, in downtown Monte Vista. Here's a schedule of events:
