People of all ages congregated in Acacia Park in Downtown Colorado Springs on Saturday morning.

Over two thousand people registered to run in the St. Patrick's Day 5K run, which kicks off the day's festivities. Event organizers say the 5K's youngest runner is only six-years-old.

Kids up to eleven years of age can participate in the "Leprechaun Fun Run" that starts at 11 a.m. The fee for the "Leprechaun Fun Run" is $10 dollars, which will go towards a fund for upkeep of Uncle Wilbur's Fountain in Acacia Park.

Many were wearing their best greens for the event, which is followed by the 28th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
