Rabies shot clinic in Pueblo this weekend

As reported cases of rabies increase, there is a low-cost way to get your pets vaccinated.

Pueblo Animal Services is offering a low cost rabies shot clinic on Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rabies vaccinations will be $8 per animal and other vaccines will be available for $10 each.

"There have been several confirmed Rabies cases in skunks, bats and other wildlife this year in the Pueblo area," said Associate Director of PAS Julie Justman, adding that, "overall the virus is on the rise in Colorado. Vaccinating your pets is the best way to keep them and your family safe."

If you are interested in attending, here is what you need  to know:

• Pueblo Animal Services is located at 4600 Eagleridge Place in Pueblo
• Payment for vaccinations will be cash only
• Other vaccinations offered for $10 include: Distemper/Parvovirus combo and Bordatella for dogs
• FVRCP or Rhino/Calici/Panleukopenia combination shot will also be available at a price of $10 for cats
