TODAY: After a very cold start to the morning forecast, it will be a little warmer this afternoon with abundant sunshine across southeastern Colorado. Chilly temperatures later today...but warmer than yesterday. Highs today of 37 in Colorado Springs, 38 in Canon City, and 41 in Pueblo. Areas with more snow cover will stay a bit cooler today compared to areas with no snow on the ground. Take it slow on some areas of the roads, especially west of I-25, as they still could be icy and snow packed.
TONIGHT: A starry, cold night expected. Skies will be clear and low temperatures will fall to 14 in Colorado Springs, 10 in Pueblo, and 18 in Canon City.
WEDNESDAY: If you're hoping for warmer temperatures you will get your wish for Wednesday. There will be sunshine again and much warmer temperatures. Tomorrow, highs will be 12-15 degrees warmer than today....just don't get used to it as another Pacific storm is on the way. Late Wednesday into Wednesday night that storm will likely bring in a few light snow showers back into the high country west into the Continental Divide and could last through Friday! (Skiers/boarders smiling!)
VALENTINE'S DAY: Some good cuddling weather on the way for you and your valentine as the next Pacific storm moves into the state. Snow will increase in the mountains...and after a quiet start to the day here at the lower elevations we'll have snow becoming more likely late in the afternoon and evening for the Front Range and mountains west of I-25. There will be a chance for more measureable snow for the News 5 viewing area, with the best chances again being close to the mountains and higher elevations. We'll be watching this storm closely. High temps for the day will actually occur earlier in the day as colder air moves across the plains. Only in the mid to upper 30's for the lower elevations and 20s to around 30 in Teller County.
FRIDAY: Chance of snow continues to begin the day and it will be the coldest day of the next seven! High temperatures mid 20s in Colorado Springs, to only around 30 in Canon City and Pueblo, teens and maybe some lower 20s in Teller County and the mountains. Snow should decrease as the day progresses and this storm system moves east.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Sunshine and much milder temps return for the weekend. It will be cold to start the day on Saturday but highs will make it to the 40s and lower 50s at the lower elevations. For you mostly sunny Sunday it will be even warmer still. It will be in the 50s in Colorado Springs with some temps on the plains will be close to reaching 60 degrees!
MONDAY: Yet another storm from the northwest will bring some snow to the mountains and could bring us some snow locally again by late in the day and overnight into Tuesday. Temps will take a drop as that next storm ‘drops-in'....only in the mid 30s for the Springs and to around 40 for Pueblo and Canon City.
