Some breeders of purebred dogs who could once demand $800 or more for a dog are now finding in a down economy, the money's not there.

This week, one Vero Beach, Florida breeder surrendered her entire business, 75 chihuahuas and a pug, to the humane society. Instead of $800 for a prebred pup, people can adopt them for $90.

The dogs range from puppies just two days old, to seven-years old.
