The City of Pueblo is showing off two beautification projects along roads on the south and east sides of town.
One, along Northern Avenue, included landscaping, medians and new planters, as well as replacement of a half mile of walking trail between Vinewood and Hollywood.
That project cost just over $500,000.
The second included landscaping at the intersection of Highways 96, 47 and 50 on the east side of Pueblo. It includes an irrigation system covering ten acres, plus more than 800 shrubs and more than 100 trees. That's in addition to more than 300 trees which were installed last year. The cost of that project was $437,000.
Most of the money, more than $500,000, came from federal stimulus funds.
