The City of Pueblo has received economic stimulus money to help buy ten new buses. The new colorful vehicles are sure to grab your attention.

The first bus, which arrived on Monday, is painted bright purple. Pueblo Transit will get nine more over the next two years to replace older buses in the fleet.

All the buses will be painted different colors: purple, burgundy, green, red, yellow, blue, gray, black, copper and light green. The light green bus will be a hybrid bus. Pueblo Transit says it went with a colorful fleet to make the transit more noticeable in the community. "More and more transit agencies are moving forward to having a more colorful fleet in a way to make the people aware of the system," said Brenda Broyles, Pueblo Transit Director. The current fleet of buses is painted white.

Pueblo Transit received more than $2.3 million in stimulus money to buy five of the buses. The transit system says the other buses were paid for using state and federal grants.
