It's inspiring when young people take action to do something good for the community--and that was the case in Pueblo today for a story we call Positively Colorado.
The teens got together to clean-up Pete Jimenez Park on Pueblo's west side. A lot of trash has accumulated in the creek bed. They removed bottles, furniture and even an old toilet. "I live right down the block. It's just trashy. People live here and it's just bad for the environment. It's just a good deed we all wanted to do," said Sheena Olson, an 18-year old Puebloan.
The City Parks Department supplied the trash bags and will pay to haul the trash to the dump. The teens say there's so much trash, they may have to organize another clean-up.
