Pueblo swine flu vaccine clinic will be restricted

The Pueblo City-County Health Department plans to hold an H1N1 Swine Flu clinic Thursday at the Colorado State Fairgrounds.

This clinic is for pregnant women, caregivers of those under 6 months old, and those with chronic illness from 6 months to 18 years old.

The swine flu shot is free. Bring proof that you are a Pueblo County resident.

The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Events Center as the Colorado State Fairgrounds. The Health Department's Flu Hotline is staffed each weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 583-4440.

Plan before you attend:

· Do not attend a clinic when ill. Vaccinations will not be given to sick people.

· Bring proof of residence. Vaccinations will only be given to Pueblo County residents.

· Wear and instruct your children to wear loosely fitting clothing that allows for arms (legs for children) to be exposed briefly for the H1N1 shot.

Some doctor's offices have received shipments of the vaccine, including OBGYN's and pediatricians. Call your doctor's office to see if the vaccine is available.
