A school in Pueblo is hosting a fundraiser to fight hunger. It's the 15th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser organized by The Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences.
Students have hand-crafted and painted more than 850 ceramic bowls. On Friday, the public is invited to purchase the bowls--with a serving of hot soup. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wayside Cross Gospel Rescue Mission, Posada, and the Pueblo Soup Kitchen.
"The idea is to teach our students to become life long volunteers--that they can make a difference in our community, and if everyone in our community reached our and helped, we might not have the issues that we have," said Cynthia Ramu, an art teacher at the Pueblo School for Arts & Sciences.
The Empty Bowls fundraiser will be held on Friday Oct. 29 at the Sange De Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $10 and you get to keep your bowl.
