Work is almost complete on a $3.5 billion project to destroy hundreds of tons of mustard agent at the Pueblo Chemical Depot east of Pueblo. Here's a quick glance at the timeline to destroy the chemical stockpile which has been stored at the depot since the 1950s.

Sept. 2004: Groundbreaking
Sept. 2011: Construction 80% complete
2015: Plant should start operation to destroy weapons through neutralization
2017: Deadline to destroy stockpile under U.S. Chemical Weapon Convention treaty
