A section head and ten-year employee at the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office has resigned; this news comes during a criminal investigation into missing cash and prescription drugs taken as evidence.
Tara Adame -- the former head of the evidence and property section -- resigned a day after being put on administrative leave. Adame is considered a person of interest -- but hasn't been arrested -- in an investigation into missing cash and prescription drugs taken as evidence on six cases.
Sheriff Kirk Taylor's office tells News 5 that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation is looking into it, and they expect to hear C.B.I.'s findings on Monday. Sheriff Taylor's office says they'll wait to discuss the matter further until the external investigation is complete.
