Employees in Pueblo School Districts 60 and 70 will gather Saturday for a rally on Saturday to celebrate public education.
The event will happen at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center from noon to 3 p.m.
"Our challenges will always be present in the world of public education, but it is important to that we remind ourselves of the accomplishments that our folks are realizing with the students of our working families in Pueblo, and acknowledge it through a simple but much needed celebration," said Ed Smith, District 70 Superintendent.
Between the two districts there are approximately 26,500 students and 3,000 employees. "This is a not an opportunity to push any agenda; it is simply to honor the hard work and ongoing commitment of the over 3,000 employees that represent public education in our community," stated Suzanne Ethredge, President, Pueblo Education Association.
Activities will include:
o Burgers, Hot Dogs and Green Chili
o Face Painting
o Pumpkin painting
o Giveaways every 15 minutes -- Prizes and Cash!
