Pueblo recycling program discontinued

The Pueblo Health Department will remove its recycling bins next week due to lack of funding.
The bins are located at:
- Bessemer Neighborhood near the EVRAZ Rocky Mountain Steel Mill offices
- Pueblo West near Civic Center and Joe Martinez Boulevard
- Pueblo West near the General Store off Carrizo Springs Avenue
Those bins will be removed at the end of the day Monday, December 27.
The recycling bins were funded from 2003-2010 by the Pueblo City-County Health Department through state and local grants.
In that time the Health Department says more than 2,500 tons of glass, aluminum, tin and newspapers have been recycled.
