Pueblo Police are investigating the strange death of 16-year old, who allegedly collapsed while playing football.
An autopsy shows Jayme McNamara died Dec. 20 from a torn aorta. The coroner says McNamara suffered some type of significant chest trauma.
The teen was reportedly playing football with friends, without any protective gear. Police are investigating how he was injured. "The police are following up on that and that's why it is important to have this follow up investigation. This is an extremely tragic accident resulting in the loss of life for this young man," said James Kramer, Pueblo County Coroner.
Kramer says this type of fatality is more commonly found in car crash victims.
Pueblo Police say at this time, McNamara's death appears to be accidental.
