If you're spending New Year's Eve in Pueblo, tickets are still available to two large events.
One is the 16th Annual Big Chili New Year's Eve Party at the Union Depot. At midnight they'll count down to the New Year by lifting a 10-foot chili pepper to the top of the depot's 65-foot bell tower. "The chili pepper of course significant to Pueblo. We feel this event is just as unique to Pueblo as perhaps is the Chili Festival is in the summer time," said Tallie Koncilja, owner of the Union Depot.
The Big Chili New Year's Eve Party starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Depot, located at 132 W. B St. In Pueblo. The event includes dinner and dancing. The band Bad Habitz will perform. The cost is $30 a person. To reserve tickets call 719-544-0020.
The Pueblo Convention Center is also hosting a New Year's Eve bash--and the theme is Viva Las Vegas. The event starts at 6 p.m. and includes casino games, dinner and music by the band Velvet Rut. Organizers say a trip to Las Vegas will be given away and be on the lookout for an Elvis impersonator. Tickets at $50 a person. To make reservations call 719-542-1100.
