Pueblo police have arrested a man accused of trying to hire someone to cut his ex-girlfriend's face and hurt her nephew.

John Richard Lucero, 22, of Pueblo was arrested Friday on a warrant for attempted first-degree assault. Police Sgt. Eric Bravo says Lucero is accused of offering an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent weapons including an AK-47 if the agent would carry out the assault.

Bravo says the woman laughed at Lucero when they broke up, so he allegedly wanted to disfigure her face. Bravo says Lucero allegedly also asked the agent to "cripple" the nephew. Bail was set at $250,000.
