Couple tied to Pueblo homicide case arrested in Denver

PUEBLO - The Pueblo Police Department has announced the arrest of two persons of interest sought in connection with a homicide at home on the northwest side of town. Kasai Ciofassa and Donna Tortessi were taken into custody in Denver on Tuesday and a missing 2008 Chevrolet HHR was recovered.

The vehicle belonged to the victim, identified as Elizabeth Johnson-Miranda of Pueblo. Neighbors called 911 when smoke was coming from her duplex on Westview Drive Sunday night. When officers arrived they found Johnson-Miranda's body.

Both Tortessi and Ciofassa are being held on unrelated charges of burglary. Ciofassa is also facing a charge of motor vehicle theft.

The investigation into Johnson-Miranda's death is ongoing.
