This Friday, Jan. 15, marks the first furlough day for Pueblo County employees. This means the courthouse and most other county offices will be closed that day. However, essential county services, such as the sheriffs office and district attorney's office will be open.
There will be eleven more furlough days throughout the year. Each on the third Friday of every month.
"It was just probably better, more predictable and more convenient for the public to know that particular day the courthouse would be closed," said Jeff Chostner, Pueblo County Commissioner.
The courthouse will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you have business to take care of, make sure to stop by Thursday before it closes for a four day weekend.
