A man who started a fire in Pueblo County earlier this week could now be charged with a felony. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says 82-year-old Tony Martellaro admitted to starting a trash pile burn.

The fire happened near Highway 50 E. and 32nd ln. Deputies say Martellaro was aware of the red flag warning but not only continue to burn, he also left the fire unattended. Martellaro had reportedly started the fire before he called the county's burn hotline.

The fire consumed 15 acres, luckily no homes were lost. The District Attorney will now decide if charges should be filed.
