A Pueblo Police officer has been charged with three misdemeanor counts following a physical confrontation with a female officer. The incident took place at the police department on January 30, 2011.
Officer Jonathan Adams has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of court proceedings. He is charged with assault, harrassment and menacing.
The District Attorney's Office investigated the case independent from the police department's internal affairs office. D.A. Bill Thiebaut says his office has regularly investigated internal affairs issues involving local law enforcement to ensure transparency.
