Proposal filed in Colorado to overturn gay marriage ban

A ballot proposal has been filed to overturn Colorado's ban on gay marriage.

The Denver Post reports Jeremy Mathis, a graduate of CSU Pueblo, and Lisa Starcher are asking that same-sex couples be allow to marry and be "treated equally in all respects under the law with no legal distinction."

The proposal is for the 2014 ballot.

They'll need to collect more than 86,000 signatures to get the measure on the ballot.

We will keep you posted as this proposal moves forward.
