If you have a preschooler in your home, here's something to entertain them and teach them about wildlife at the same time. Cheyenne Mountain State Park has developed a program for three- to five-year-olds. The nature-themed topics will be explored through stories, puppet shows, guided investigations, take-home crafts and outdoor activities.

The first preschool program will be held this Thursday. Here's a list of dates and topics through the end of the year:

  • Wildlife Signs September 16 Thursday
  • Prairie Dogs September 28 Tuesday
  • Bird Songs October 14 Thursday
  • Bats October 28 Thursday
  • Bears/Hibernation November 4th Thursday
  • Wild Turkeys November 18th Thursday
  • Holiday Feasts for Birds and Beasts December 9th Thursday

All children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call the Visitor Center at 576-2016.
