Proby Parkway detours start next week

Beginning Monday, June 7, Milton Proby Parkway will be closed from Hancock Expressway to Powers Boulevard.
Traffic will be detoured to S. Chelton Road.
The $55 million project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority and should be finished in October 2011. The fund comes from a 1 percent sales tax approved in 2004 to be used for infrastructure and transportation.
The project will give motorists easier access to the Colorado Springs Airport and will relieve traffic pressures on Drennan Road.
