It's possible Pueblo City Schools could soon use a private company for bus transportation.
A special meeting held Wednesday discussed details of a possible contract with First Student, a company that already does transportation for D70 in Pueblo County.
Those with Pueblo City Schools say they're facing a budget crunch and switching to private transportation could save them up to $100,000.
According to the agreement, First Student would buy all of the buses the district already has.
"They are encouraging all of our current bus drivers to apply for positions with First Student, so that weighed very heavily in our consideration of this vendor," said Greg Sinn, Communications Director for D60.
They say parents should not be concerned.
First student has been in business for a long time, so families should not notice any difference.
A final decision will be made in early August.
